The Compaq ProLiant 1500 server is a powerful, flexible, yet affordable network solution for departmental file and application servers. It supports both a single 75, 100, or 120 MHz Pentium processor, or a dual 133MHz and 166MHz Pentium processors. Proliant servers are known of its capabilities for compute-intensive performance and running mission-critical applications.
The memory is located on the processor board in order to give increased maximum memory on high performance processor boards. The ProLiant 1500 also utilizes Compaq FlexSMP system Architecture, and it also comes with 256 KB or 512 KB of secondary write-back cache.
The Compaq ProLiant 1500 integrates Fast-Wide SCSI-2/P Controller, altogether eight drive bays including three removable media bays and five hot-pluggable bays, quadSpeed CD-ROM drive standard, SMART-2/P Array Controller standard on array models, Compaq Insight Manager and Compaq SmartStart standard Redundant power supply upgrade facility.
